Learning to Listen is a series of classes I created to bring together the best of the principles of Craniosacral work and mind-body practices that bring freedom to Body, Mind, and Spirit.

About the Training...

Who Learning to Listen is For

Learning to Listen I is open to beginners, professionals and anyone who is curious about how to move energy through their body and how to learn more about their body.

In this 20hr training you will:

  • Learn the theory and methodology of Craniosacral Therapy

  • Develop your understanding of body energetics and healing touch

  • Practice hands-on methods that balance the central nervous system

  • Take home skills that you can use to support yourself and your loved ones

  • Grow your capacity to listen

Practitioners will learn how to work with their clients and discover how to integrate this work with the modalities they are already licensed to practice.

Learning to Listen II, will be held in a retreat-style setting, at the Fensalden Manor.

The Fensalden Manor is a beautiful, historic home on the Mendocino coast. It is a sanctuary retreat center for artistry, healing, and spirituality. You can see and hear the ocean from the house, cozy up by the many fireplaces, walk on the seven acres of open land, and share meals in the large kitchen and dining room. It is a homestyle, intimate experience, and a beautiful space to be studying this kind of bodywork that connects us more deeply to ourselves, each other, and our environment.

About the Experience...

Learning to Listen 1 Retreat-Style Experience

I was invited to teach this course this past January. We were able to run the event at the Fensalden Manor, in a Covid safe environment. The experience was transformational! I can't tell you how magical it was to be there. We studied during the training hours, and in our down time were able to play music together, share stories, have challenging conversations, and beautifully connect.

What to expect:

Learning to Listen is a 20 hour training spread throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be a morning and afternoon session of about 3-4 hours each with a break in between where you can take time to explore the stunning facilities, enjoy the ocean views, or relax and take time to yourself before the afternoon session.

The retreat will begin Friday, April 23rd at 10am, but we are asking you arrive Thursday evening to allow yourself time ground, explore your surroundings, and settle into your sleeping space. We understand you may need to arrive late. Dinner will be provided for you to enjoy after you settle in. (Special circumstances may allow for a Friday morning arrival, with Catharine's approval.) Sessions will end Sunday evening and you will have the option to stay Sunday night as well, or head home if you prefer.

Meals will be catered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Simple, organic, whole foods will be provided. If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know during registration and we will make the appropriate accommodations.

In the evenings bring an instrument if you'd like, or bring art materials if you like to do that. Bring a book. You can enjoy sitting by the fireside, or if it is warm, enjoy being outside in the acres of land that have ocean views around the house. It is really a special experience.

  • 20 hours training in the fundamentals of Craniosacral Therapy: $400.00

  • Accommodations to include: all meals, use of the retreat center with it's beautiful facilities, and sleeping arrangements will range between $300-$650. (Cost dependent on room selection and nights stayed)

***Sleeping arrangements are limited, book quickly to reserve your preference.

***Bedrooms are available to individuals, or if you want to reduce the rate, are open for sharing the space with another person, if you prefer.

"I loved the retreat. I loved receiving and giving so much healing touch and feeling my whole system was rewired to a place of integrated peace."

"Catharine was so gracefully on point and held a secure and supportive container for us all!"

"Catharine has a grounding presence. I loved the way she responded to emergent topics and wove them into the experience. It felt like there was room for everyone to be authentic, bring their knowledge, and ask questions without feeling rushed or like we were falling behind. She is a great container holder and facilitator."

"Catharine was great- she felt focused, she allowed for different kinds of learning, she was grounded but still curious."

"Catharine's ability to listen fully to each person share their reflections, take the time to process it (and sometimes clarify) and allow that to have all of the time it needed without ever projecting stress around covering the class material. And still manage to cover all of the class material. I told Catharine in detail in the kitchen how much I learned from watching her teach, and would probably take ANY of her courses (on whatever topic) just to try to learn those qualities by osmosis."

"I loved learning the history, and connected a lot to what felt spiritual about co regulation and collective healing. I also loved learning about the skull bones and their movement."

"I would come back anytime to Fendsalden! The hosting atmosphere was unparalleled."
