COMMUNITY PRACTICE LABS

A Place to Practice Listening

Small-group somatic practice labs for students of Learning to Listen.

It's been an amazing opportunity to reflect on my experiences

"Not only are the practice sessions a wonderful opportunity to review technique, but it's been an amazing opportunity to reflect on my experiences and hear from others on theirs and continually grow and learn ."

Join us Saturday, March 21st

10am-1pm in Berkeley

In a fast-moving world, practice becomes refuge.

What are Community Practice Labs?

Community Practice Labs are hands-on practice sessions where we gather to deepen the skills learned in Learning to Listen.

These sessions are a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and deepen your listening skills in community.

Together we explore:

  • refining touch and listening skills

  • asking questions and receiving guidance

  • developing language for what you are sensing

  • practicing with different nervous systems

  • learning through shared group intelligence

Each session has space for only 9 students, which allows for personal attention and meaningful learning

Catharine offered thoughtful, attentive guidance throughout the session.

"Catharine did an excellent job gathering input from the group about what we wanted to practice and recognized common themes in our responses. She designed two complementary practices tailored to our needs and offered thoughtful, attentive guidance throughout the session."

What happens in a Lab?

Each Practice Lab is a blend of:

• guided practice exchanges
• group reflection and learning
• time for questions
• opportunities to refine your sensing and listening

Themes often emerge organically depending on the group. This keeps the work alive and relevant to what you are discovering in your own practices.

I found that I enjoy following my intuition.

"Catharine supported me in using and trusting my intuition in at least 3 ways that I can remember. I found that I enjoy following my intuition, and that following opened something up in me in the practice."

Why practice in community?

Many students tell me that these Community Practice Labs become anchors in their year.

Practicing together offers something that solo practice cannot:

• Skills that feel uncertain begin to stabilize
• The group field supports deeper learning

• Your intuition grows through real-time feedback

And of course, you also benefit from my 20+ years of hands-on experience as we explore together.

“Always a great experience to be in Catharine’s space — such good energy and a very supportive environment.”

“Practicing with others helped me trust what I was sensing with my hands.”

“These sessions helped my confidence grow so much.”

Sessions often fill — early registration is recommended.

Who can attend?

Community Practice Labs are open to students who have completed:

• Learning to Listen Part 1, or
• another equivalent training with me.

If you’re unsure whether the sessions are right for you, feel free to reach out.

Continuing the Path

Many students attend several practice labs throughout the year as part of their ongoing learning.

Practicing together supports the integration of the skills you have learned and often serves as a natural bridge to the next level of training.

Ready for your next Training?

Whether you are continuing the path or returning after some time away, you are warmly welcome

Catharine met us precisely where we were on our own individual journeys

"The depth of Catharine's own inner work came through in her teaching. She beautifully wove together insights from Hugh Milne, Thomas Hubl and others, as well as her own, meeting us precisely where we were on our own individual journeys in this introduction to craniosacral therapy."

I found myself really drawn in and feeling really safe at the training

"I appreciate how Catharine's has teaching of Craniosacral Therapy comes with such a spiritual depth and psycho-socio-emotional attunement and genuineness that I found myself really drawn in and feeling really safe at the training. Not all teachers impress me with such a level of integration and depth, presence and humility - and I've been training with many psychological & spiritual schools and groups such as Hakomi, the Diamond Approach, CIIS, and Relational Somatic Healing, and some others at Esalen and elsewhere"

A safe holding environment for exploration

"I have never attended a class, especially one where I was participating in hands on practice, where my inner critic was silent. Catharine did an amazing job creating a safe holding environment for exploration."
